Emily asked if she was having cereal. She didn’t have her video on. She turned it on after a few seconds. Emily said she’s out on the porch and it’s in the 60s for now. She said it will be hotter. Ambria told her the highs have been in the high 60s. Emily said something about nice weather. Ambria agreed. Emily said last night was in the 60s too. She likes that better than the 80s.
Ambria told her they had two quizzes Friday in French. One was about greetings. They wrote the answers for that one. For the other one, they had individual conversations with the teacher. Emily asked how she did on the conversation. Ambria thinks she did well.
Emily asked if they’d played soccer yet. Ambria said they played it Thursday and she kicked the ball twice. Emily asked if those kicks were into the goal. Ambria said they were not.
Emily asked about geometry. Ambria told her they’ve been learning angles. She doesn’t know when the test is. She said they had a test in history Friday. She thinks she did well on that one too.
Emily asked about physics. Ambria told her they’ve been doing group experiments with charges. Emily said it “sounds like everything is going good so far.” She asked when her first break is. Ambria said Thanksgiving. Emily asked if she didn’t have a single day before that. Ambria thinks there’s a day in October for teacher inservice but she’s not sure. Emily said that’s good to get one day of break at least.
Emily said Thursday was Reda’s normal day for ice cream. She finally got the coffee ice cream. Emily asked if she would get another flavor. Reda will get it next time. She’s still walking and working with the weak arm.
Emily reminded Ambria she took the dog to the vet. The dog still takes the medication. Emily has to crush it up since she’s not supposed to take the whole pill. She has to crush it because the dog won’t take the pill whole.
Ambria said she has a roller derby clinic tomorrow. Emily asked if she’s excited or dreading it. Ambria is mostly excited because she wants to get better. Emily said that’s good.
Emily asked if tryouts are the following Sunday. Ambria said they are. Emily asked what the tryout entails. Ambria doesn’t remember. Emily asked what they do in the clinic. Ambria struggled to remember that and couldn’t. She just remembered the scrimmage at the end.
Emily said her friend Kit was in the marching band at the game last night. Emily asked if she went to watch. Ambria said she didn’t. Emily asked what she plays. Ambria said clarinet. Emily asked how big the band is. Ambria has never seen it. Emily said it’s probably a “pretty good size.” Emily asked if Kit spends a lot of time at practice. Emily asked if she was in the middle school band. Ambria said she was.
Emily asked about McKenzie. Ambria said “she’s good.” She said McKenzie went to the football game. Emily asked why Ambria didn’t go. Ambria didn’t really want to go. Ambria said their team has lost all their games by a lot. Emily laughed. Emily asked what the other school in the area is. Ambria told her it’s Chief Sealth. She told her that was the game they played last night.
Emily asked if their school has a football field. Ambria told her it’s at Hiawatha Park, but they don’t have games there.
Ambria said to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Ambria was about to say she wanted to go, and Emily interrupted with more information about Reda’s therapy. She said she thinks Reda doesn’t have it on the weekends.
