Emily asked how she’s doing. Ambria said good.
Emily asked about school. Ambria said it was good. She said they had some free time in PE since they didn’t have a full class period. Emily said she likes soccer. Ambria said she’s not very good. Emily said she wasn’t either but she still liked it.
Ambria told her they presented their poems yesterday. She said they put them on the table and wrote things about each one. Emily asked if they critiqued their classmates. Ambria said it was all good stuff, like what they would bring to the classroom. Emily asked what they said about her. Ambria said they said she’d bring a different perspective. Emily said that could be positive in many ways. Ambria agreed.
Ambria said they had a quiz in geometry. She said they have them every Wednesday. Emily said it was good that the period was short and the quizzes are easy.
Ambria told her they learned more words in French including the months. She said yesterday they learned numbers, the alphabet, and the days of the week. Emily asked her to say something. Ambria gave her the weekdays. She said she doesn’t remember Saturday and Sunday. Ambria told her some letters of the alphabet too. Emily said, “Well, it sounds like you’re doing good.” She asked if Ambria likes it, and Ambria said she does.
Emily said the dog had to go to the vet today. Ambria asked why. She has allergies causing some skin problem on her back. Emily said she has to get monthly allergy shots. She scratched her back so much she has an infection. Emily said she had a hard day and whispered “not really.”
Ambria asked about Reda. Emily said she’s still wearing the splint and doing arm therapy. She didn’t do arm therapy yesterday. She just walked. Emily said ice cream day is every Thursday. She asks for coffee ice cream but they don’t have it. They have actual coffee which Reda doesn’t get it because she can’t drink it. Emily said they have better coffee in the therapy section of the facility. Emily suggested she ask for it there. She listed the flavors of ice cream they have.
Emily said she played bingo today. She wins a banana or a pack of crackers. Ambria asked her to tell her hi and she loves her. Emily said she’s still working her arm out with the skateboard.
Emily said Ambria’s shirt looks warm. Ambria said it’s a thin hoodie. They talked about the particulars of the hoodie.
Ambria searched for something to say. She told Emily she had her roller derby clinic on Sunday. Emily asked how it went. Ambria said she regrets not skating over the summer. It made her legs sore. Emily asked if her ankles are weak. Ambria said they aren’t. She told her she has one more before tryouts. Emily asked if she’ll be able to practice this week. Ambria said she doesn’t know. Emily asked if she can skate on the sidewalk. Ambria said she has some outdoor wheels but they’re a pain to change. She said they might be easier now that she has bearings she keeps in those wheels. Emily said she should practice if they’re not too hard to change.
Emily asked if there’s a reason she wouldn’t make it. Ambria said it’s just a formality. Emily said she’s glad.
Ambria said she wants to change her call time in case she doesn’t get home at 3:00. Ambria suggested 3:15pm. Emily said that’s 6:15 and wasn’t a problem. Ambria said she wants to go. They ended the call at September 18, 2019 3:10 PM.
