Emily asked how she’s doing. Ambria said she’s good. Emily asked if Ambria could see her. Ambria said she could.
Emily asked how school was. Ambria said they’re starting to learn things in their classes. She said they get in a circle in French and the teacher says words and does hand motions that they have to repeat to help them understand what the words mean. When they are in the classroom, they only speak in French. Emily asked if she knows how to ask to go to the bathroom. Ambria knows part of it. If they have something urgent, they can point to the hallway to go out there and talk in English.
Emily asked what Ambria wants for her birthday. Ambria has stuff on her Amazon wish list. Ambria also told her about a denim jacket she found on eBay that she didn’t buy because she’s saving her money. Emily asked what she’s saving for. Ambria said she’s just been spending it too fast lately.
Emily asked if Ambria has heard the new Taylor Swift album. Ambria didn’t know there was a new one. Emily said she likes it. Ambria said she’ll have to listen to it. Emily asked if she needs iTunes money. Ambria said she thinks she has enough for it. Emily said the album has been out 3-4 weeks now.
Ambria told her they had their first geometry quiz. Emily asked how it went. Ambria said she did well. It was about lines and segments.
Emily asked about physics. Ambria said they started a unit on charges yesterday. Ambria told about the lady who sparked a flame with static electricity while pumping gas. Emily asked why that happened. Ambria said she doesn’t know.
Ambria said they had to run the mile in PE yesterday. Emily asked how she did. Ambria said 11:40.
Emily talked about the cat and showed it on the call.
Ambria told her they did the sit-up test today and complained about the mats. She said she did 90 last year but can only do 25 this year. She also did 11 push-ups. Emily asked if that is good. Ambria said she guesses.
Emily talked more about the cat.
Ambria told her they’ve been doing a lot of stuff in history. They worked on longitude and latitude in the library. She’s working on a thing about Seattle housing deeds in the 1960s.
In language arts, they’re writing a poem about themselves. Emily asked if it has to rhyme. Ambria said no. They have to write about their memories when they were younger.
Emily asked if she got out at 3:45 today. Ambria corrected her that she got out at 3:35. Emily asked about the start time. Ambria said 8:45. Emily asked what Ambria had for lunch. Ambria had trouble recalling. She told her about the pre-packaged items. She’s been getting those. Emily said she’s glad she has her appetite yet.
Emily asked if she still has class with McKenzie. Ambria said yes. Emily wanted to ask about another friend but couldn’t remember her name. Ambria guessed it was Ramona.
Ambria asked about Reda. Emily said she’s at a 43 on their therapy grading scale vs. a 40 previously. They might stop paying for therapy when she levels off. Emily said she might challenge it if they try to stop paying. Emily said she has a “skateboard-type apparatus” that she puts her weak arm on. Ambria said to tell her hi and she loves her. Emily said she tells her the same. Ambria said she will send Reda a letter to tell her about school soon. Emily said she has the picture Ambria sent of her on the beach.
