The call took a while to connect. Emily said she is on the porch and it’s just in the 80s there. Ambria said it’s in the 60s and will get into the upper 70s.
Ambria said it’s supposed to rain here tomorrow. Emily asked what kind of rain we usually have in the summer. Ambria said a really light drizzle. Emily asked about winter. Ambria said the same.
Emily asked about school. Ambria said it was good. She got her schedule and hasn’t gotten lost. She got her locker. Emily asked where it is. Ambria said it’s beside her first period. Third from the end on the top. Emily asked what kind of lock. Ambria told her it’s a combination. Emily asked if she has trouble opening it. Emily did when she was in school. Ambria said it’s the same kind of lock they had last year. She said the lockers are all hard to open. Emily laughed.
Emily asked what class is her favorite. Ambria said French. Emily asked her to say something. Ambria said bonjour. Emily said “Oh,” and laughed. She taught her “How are you doing?” and the positive answer. Emily asked about the negative answer. Ambria forgot it.
Emily said she saw Panda yesterday. She said Korra hides. Emily asked why. Ambria said she doesn’t like people. Emily said she found her and petted her face. Panda let her pick her up. Ambria said that was funny.
Ambria told her they’re supposed to start instruction on Monday. In French, they’ve been learning each others names and learning about the other people in class. Emily asked what she told about herself. Ambria told her about the personality bingo. Emily asked what traits she gave. Ambria said it was just questions. She said she’s not sure if she did it right. The questions were about pets and what people ate for breakfast. She said it was to get to know people. Emily said that was good.
Ambria told her they had to come up with the 5 questions to get to know someone better and ask them to the person they sit with. They’re presenting them on Monday. Emily asked if they’re presented to the class. Ambria said yes. Emily said, “Ugh.”
Emily asked how many people are in classes. Ambria told her 29 for the smallest and 36 for the larger classes. Emily said those are large. She asked how big the school is. Ambria said she thinks there are over 1,000 people. Emily said OK.
Emily asked about geometry. Ambria said the teacher is really laid-back which is nice. Emily asked about physics. Ambria said she seems OK. She’s not sure. Emily asked about fitness. Ambria said it’s good. She said they’ve only sat and talked so far. Emily asked if it’s every day. Ambria said it’s in the gym every day. Emily asked if they have to dress out. Ambria said they have to get a shirt. Emily asked about shorts. Ambria said shorts or leggings. She will do leggings or sweat pants.
Emily asked about roller derby. Ambria said it starts this month. Emily asked if she’s practiced. Ambria said no. She might get to on a weekend but she’s not sure.
