Ambria told her they have a bout today in Kennewick. Emily asked where that is. Ambria said it’s in the middle of Washington but at the bottom. Emily asked if it’s a long drive. Ambria said it’s about 4 hours. Emily asked if there’s a team bus. Ambria said they’re meeting at the rink but she doesn’t know. Emily said it’s the last bout until when? Ambria said until November. Emily said she thought it started in September. Ambria said practice starts in September.

Ambria searched for something to say. She said tomorrow is the big pride festival in Seattle Center. Emily asked if she’s going. Ambria said maybe. She said we went last year and it was cool. Emily said they had the Knoxville price last week, but other groups showed up. She said it “seemed kinda sketchy.” Emily said she guessed that, up here, there’s not much negativity around it. Emily asked if Seattle Center is a really big building. Ambria said it’s outside around the Space Needle.

Emily asked about her appointment. Ambria said her vision probably won’t get a lot worse for a while, but, when it does, it will stay that way for a long time. Emily said she understands it either gets a lot worse at the beginning and stays or it gets worse slowly at the beginning, gets a lot worse, and then stays that way. Ambria said she thinks they told us about the second part. Emily asked how many years it would be before it got drastically worse. Ambria said she doesn’t know. Emily asked if they gave any options. Ambria said clinical trials. Emily asked about them. Ambria told her about the pills, the injection, and the surgery. Emily asked if those were appealing. Ambria said she doesn’t know. Emily asked what her vision is. Ambria told her it’s 20/100. Emily asked if that’s with or without glasses. Ambria said she doesn’t know. Emily said hers is 20/100 without. Ambria said she thinks hers is 20/100 with glasses. Emily asked if she can see without her glasses up-close. Ambria said yes. Emily asked about with her glasses. Ambria said yes. Emily asked if it’s just distance. Ambria said yes. Emily asked how much it will degrade. Ambria told her to 20/150 or 20/200 but not for a while. Emily asked when she goes back. Ambria said she doesn’t know but thinks next year. Emily asked if she gets to keep her current prescription. Ambria said yes.

Emily told her it’s 83 right now and pretty hot. Ambria told her its in the 70s but 87 in Kennewick. Emily said she hopes the trip goes well. Emily asked if she will jam. Ambria said it depends on how good their team is. Emily said she hopes she can. Emily asked if she has derby friends’ phone numbers. Ambria said she has close friends but no best friends. Emily mentioned Lauren and McKenzie and asked if she had their numbers. Ambria said she’s not as close with Lauren but she does have numbers.
