Ambria called Emily. Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria told her she stayed home sick today. Emily asked if she’s OK. Ambria said she just has a stomach bug. Emily said that makes you feel horrible and she agreed. Emily asked if she’s better. Ambria said better than this morning. Emily said she hates that Ambria feels bad and that it ruins your week. Ambria said she hopes she’ll feel better tomorrow. Emily said it’s a good sign she’s already feeling better.
Ambria told her Nana and Poppy got her yesterday. Emily asked what they’re going to do. Ambria said they may shop for a graduation dress. Emily asked if they’re having a ceremony. Ambria said yes. Emily asked for a picture. Ambria said OK. Emily asked if they will have caps and gowns. Ambria said she doesn’t think so. Emily bet Ambria is excited about that, and Ambria agreed.
Ambria asked about Reda. Emily said she fell recently but didn’t get hurt. Emily said she’s not sure of the details. Emily thinks it happened on the way to the bathroom. She said they’re putting her back in physical therapy. Ambria said that’s good. Emily said she hates she fell but “it probably won’t be the last time.” Emily said she was startled but Reda talked about it very matter-of-factly. Ambria said to tell her hi and she loves her. Emily said Reda says the same thing. Emily said she hopes the restorative therapy will help her get stronger. Emily’s not sure when it happened either.
Emily said it’s been chilly recently. Ambria told her it was in the 80s yesterday. Emily said they had traded out. Ambria said it’s been really nice all week. Emily said it’s supposed to be cool over the weekend warming up on Sunday. Ambria said it’s supposed to be warm here the next few days. Emily said she hopes Ambria can do some things outside.
Ambria told her she has a history final next Thursday. Emily asked if she’s ready, and Ambria said no. Emily asked if there’s a lot of stuff they have to cover. Ambria told her they’re still learning about the civil war and that’s what most of it is about. Emily asked if she finds it interesting. Ambria said it’s not bad. Emily said she didn’t mind it but couldn’t remember the dates.
Ambria asked if she told her about the sit-up challenge in PE. Emily said no. Ambria told her she did 90. Emily asked if she was some kind of muscle woman. Ambria said she wasn’t sure how she did it. Emily said she went into a superhero mode. Ambria said one kid did it with all groups and did 270 total. Emily asked if that means anything special. Ambria said they got bragging rights. Emily said “that’s always nice.”
Ambria checked her watch. Emily asked if they still have homeroom. Ambria said they have advisory for 30 minutes each day except Wednesday. Emily asked what they do there. Ambria said they work on homework, read, or talk to friends on Fridays. Emily joked about that. Ambria said Mr. Patt doesn’t care sometimes.
Emily asked if they had any roller derby stuff. Ambria said they had practice yesterday. Emily asked if there were more bouts. Ambria said they have 3 more in the next 3 weeks. Emily said she’d better get ready. Ambria said she’s skipping one this weekend. Emily asked if they have enough people. Ambria said they do.
