Ambria called Emily on Skype. Emily asked what she’s doing today. Ambria told her she just got home from school. Emily asked how it was. Ambria told her they have math testing starting tomorrow. Emily asked if she was worried. Ambria said no. Emily said, “Of course you’re not.” Ambria told her they got a huge math packet last week to study. Ambria showed her. Emily said it is quite large. Emily asked if she knows all of it. Ambria said mostly. Emily said good.

Emily said it’s very hot there. Ambria told her it’s in the low 70s here. Emily said it was “quite a big difference.” Ambria agreed.

Ambria told her the skate prom is this Friday at the skating rink. She said it’s not like last year. It’s for anyone to attend but it benefits her team. Emily asked if she’s going. Ambria said she thinks so and is asking McKenzie to go. Emily asked if you have to skate. Ambria said you don’t have to. Emily asked about dancing. Ambria said it’s mostly skating. Emily asked what she will wear. Ambria said she’s wearing her new black and white dress. Emily asked if that’s the one she got from eBay. Ambria said yes. She told her the theme is Lost Boys but she’s not dressing up for the theme.

Emily asked how other things at school are going. Ambria said it’s good. She told her they went outside in PE. Emily asked if they played kickball. Ambria said she and Aiden just walked around. Ambria said her PSA project is almost over and they are already done. Emily asked about science. Ambria told her they’re learning about human impacts on the world. Emily asked what she thinks. Ambria said they just started. She told her about an activity they did around global warming. Emily said “that doesn’t sound too bad then.” Ambria told her they finished language arts testing. Emily asked what they’re doing now. Ambria thinks they are reading another play. Emily asked which one. Ambria didn’t remember.

Emily gave Ambria an update on her pets.

Ambria asked about Reda. Emily said she’s having some symptoms of vascular dementia. She’s been paranoid. Emily has tried to reason with her, but she’s still paranoid. Emily said they can’t reverse it but they can control the paranoia. Emily is looking into that. She said her brain will never heal “more than it is.” She compared it to Reda’s arm; she can’t move it and won’t be able to. They’re just trying to maintain her where she is as long as they can. She says she doesn’t know when things will progress. She told Ambria it’s to be expected and not to get upset about. Emily explained what vascular dementia is and shared that Reda wouldn’t have it without the stroke. She said Reda always says to tell Ambria she loves her every time she sees her. She forgets days, but she doesn’t forget stuff like that.

Ambria said she wanted to go. They ended the call at May 22, 2019 3:10 PM.
