• Emily messaged a few minutes before the regular call time to ask Ambria to put off her call until 10am. Ambria agreed. Ambria called Emily. Emily was in her car. Her connection was bad. Lots of breaking up in her call. Emily asked what she is doing. Ambria told her she’s going to get glasses. Emily asked what she’s getting. Ambria said she may get the ones she has in black. She had forgotten too. Ambria told Emily she got a letter from Bennie and Lollie. Ambria told her she knew she is walking with a cane. Emily said she hasn’t seen that. Emily asked if she still has the splint. Ambria said yes. Emily asked about school. Ambria told her state testing starts this week and she has a science test 1st thing Monday morning. Emily asked if they have field day. Ambria said not in middle school. Emily said she had it in middle school. She said she was embarrassed about it. Ambria said she hasn’t had field day since 5th grade. Ambria told her they signed up for high school classes. Emily asked what she chose. Ambria told her geometry and French 1. Ambria said everyone is required to take some other courses, and she may take PE in summer school. Emily asked why. Ambria explained, and Emily said that was good. Ambria said it’s only for a few weeks. Emily started saying something and cut out. Emily asked if there’s only one high school she can go to. Ambria said there are different ones you can apply for, but you don’t have to apply to go in your district. Ambria told her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said last time she told her Reda said to tell her back. No one said anything for a while. Emily’s connection was flaking. Emily asked if geometry was an elective. Ambria said it’s her math class. Emily asked about French. Ambria said it’s an elective and you have to take 2 years of it. Emily asked which school she will go to. Ambria said she’ll go to West Seattle. Emily asked if it’s close. Ambria said it’s closer than Madison. Ambria told her it’s half a block away. Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily said some other things but cut out again. They ended the call at 10:09 AM.
