- Ambria called Emily. The call rang for almost a minute before Emily answered. Emily said Ambria’s shirt is cute. Emily asked about Ambria’s arm. Ambria said it’s fine. She showed it to her. Emily said it looks fine to her. Ambria told her they didn’t have derby practice yesterday but they have practice tomorrow. Emily asked why. Ambria said they had something at the rink. Emily said Panda is going wild and yawning because she’s been sleeping all day. Emily said she’s glad Ambria’s arm is OK. Ambria told Emily they are doing essays at school — one for literacy night and one as a test in history. Emily asked what the test is about. Ambria said they have to pick either the 1st or 4th amendment. Emily asked which she picked. Ambria picked the first. Emily asked what she wrote about. Ambria said she hasn’t finished it, but she has to argue her own decision on a famous case relating to that amendment. Ambria told her about the essay/poster for literacy night. Emily asked when it is. Ambria told her it’s the 21st. Emily said it’s coming up soon. Ambria said at least they don’t have to dress up. Emily said the weather is nice there: 67 degrees. Ambria told her it’s nice here too although she’s not sure the temperature. Ambria showed her out the window. Emily commented on the blue sky. Emily asked what she had for lunch. Ambria almost got the pizza but it was weird. She got a “package thing with bread.” She doesn’t know what it is. Emily said that makes sense. Emily asked if she eats breakfast at school. Ambria said she eats at home. Emily asked what. Ambria said smoothies while her arm was hurt but she’s back to cereal. Ambria said she has a lot of homework. Emily guessed a lot of math. Ambria said some math. Ambria showed her some of the work. Emily asked if they have to do “so many worksheets.” Ambria said they do a lot. Emily asked if she just got home. Ambria said she did and she did two worksheets. Emily said she was planning to ask her something, but she can’t recall it. Emily asked about volunteering. Ambria said she couldn’t go last week because of her arm, and she can’t go this week because of homework. Emily asked if she still has to get a number of hours. Ambria said she already has them. Ambria told her about editing their video. Emily asked what the video was about. Ambria told her it’s a video scavenger hunt. Emily said, “Oh yeah. Video scavenger hunt.” Ambria told her she played basketball and did the push-up test in PE today. Emily asked how many. Ambria said 12. Emily asked how many other people did. Ambria said 12 was about average. Ambria told her she played basketball during her free time. Emily said that’s a pretty safe sport. Emily asked if Ambria pictured her in her basketball uniform. Ambria said she thinks she’s seen it. Emily asked how often Ambria goes to the eye doctor. Ambria said she’s not sure. About once per year. Emily said she’s glad her wrist isn’t injured. Ambria said she wanted to go. They ended the call at 3:08 PM.
