Ambria called Emily. The call rang for a long time before Emily picked up. The call then lost connection and began reconnecting. Skype said there was a poor connection. Ambria was trying to take a screenshot of the message as her mom called back and accidentally declined the call. Emily called back again. Emily said she picked up the call earlier but nothing happened. They finally got connected at about 3pm. Emily asked about Ambria’s snack. Ambria said it is pretzels and hummus. Emily asked about school. Ambria said it was good. She presented her video project. Emily asked what it was on. Ambria said it was a day in the life (of the kid). Ambria said they are supposed to finish presenting tomorrow. Emily asked if her footage was complete. Ambria said she presented yesterday. Emily asked if she was nervous. Ambria said no because she just had to play the video. Emily asked what was in the video. Ambria said walking to and from school, doing homework, playing Splatoon, and going to derby practice. Emily asked if she shared anything with her in her gear. Ambria said she showed her feet and her teammates. Emily said she’s glad it’s out of the way. Emily asked about PE. Ambria said it’s fine. She told her mom they played kickball yesterday and got hit in the face. Emily asked if she played it off wanting to cry. Ambria said it didn’t really hurt, and everyone asked if she was OK. Ambria said she played volleyball on Monday. Emily asked surprised if she chose that. Ambria giggled. Emily said she didn’t think Ambria was related. Ambria said it’s different when you’re not playing very seriously. Emily asked if she’s still doing her community service. Ambria told her she is. Emily asked about Saturday’s bout. Ambria told her they played Portland. Emily asked if they came from Portland. Ambria told her they did. Ambria said they brought their own rules and had them play by them. She said some of her teammates got ejected. Emily asked how a single team could have their own rules. Emily asked if the coach got angry. Ambria said she doesn’t think so because he agreed to it. Ambria said their team was tiny. Emily asked if there weren’t many people on the team. Ambria said they were physically small and probably young. Emily asked the age range of Ambria’s team. Ambria told her 12-17. Emily said she falls in the middle then. Ambria agreed. Emily asked the average age on her team. Ambria said she guessed about 14. Emily said there weren’t any people she went to school with on her team. Ambria said there is: Dominick. Emily asked if there weren’t last year because it was far away. Ambria said yes. Ambria asked about Reda. Emily said it takes her hours to eat her means. Sometimes they bring lunch before she’s done with breakfast. Emily said she thinks she’s getting distracted. Emily said when she was there, it took 30 minutes to an hour. Emily hasn’t talked to the therapist yet. Emily doesn’t think her arm is better than before. She thinks she’s stronger in general but the arm is no better. Emily said she’s about the same but hasn’t declined. She asked Ambria if that makes sense. Ambria said it did. Emily said Reda said hello and she loves Ambria. Ambria told her to tell Reda the same. Emily said she’s trying to teach Panda a new word: “snoot loop.” Ambria said she wants to go. They ended the call at 3:10PM.
