Ambria called Emily. Emily said she looks warm this morning. Ambria said it’s sunny out. Emily said it has been pretty chilly for her this week. 19 or 18 on Thursday. Emily said it’s going to be in the 50s today. Ambria laughed. Emily said it’s really weird. Ambria said it’s going to be cold this weekend but not too cold. Emily asked if 50-60 is the best temperature for Ambria. Ambria said that’s good if it’s not the summer. Emily asked her favorite season. Ambria said summer. Emily said winter has been very mild there. Ambria said it has been here too and it hasn’t rained much. Emily said she saw the pictures on the art site. Emily asked if those were over the course of the art semester. Her favorite was the chickens. Ambria told her she put it on the wall and showed it to her. Emily asked how she names them. Ambria said she just names it what it is as she uploads it. Ambria said she sent some letters with her art in it. Emily asked how her favorite class (PE) is. Ambria said it’s not bad. She played volleyball yesterday. Emily stopped her and asked if she played volleyball. Ambria said yes. Emily asked if she played with her friends instead of a full class game. Ambria said that was right. Emily asked about her friend… and couldn’t recall the name. Her best friend. Ambria reminded her McKenzie. Emily asked if she has classes with her. Ambria said she doesn’t and her schedule got changed. Emily asked if she sees her at lunch. Emily asked if she mostly talks or eats. Ambria said there’s not much eating that happens. Ambria told her she’s not going to the skate park tomorrow because it’s supposed to be cold, but they may go somewhere today. Emily asked if the last time she went was a couple of weeks ago. Ambria said yes. Emily asked if she will do better this time. Ambria said yes, but she probably won’t go until it gets warmer. Emily asked if there are large pools of water in the skate park. Ambria said no and that she wouldn’t go in the rain. Emily asked about another camp she could attend. Emily said maybe she could go to the next level of camp. Ambria said yeah. Emily asked if the park is close to the house. Ambria said it’s less than 20 minutes on the bus. Ambria told her she has media literacy and PE. Ambria told her media literacy is actually video production. Emily asked if she gets to be in videos and do the behind-the-scenes stuff. Ambria said no, they get to make the videos. Emily said she thinks she had the option to do that in middle school. Emily said she didn’t enjoy it. She said it “wasn’t that bad.” Emily asked about her math, if she’s continuing or starting something new. Ambria said they started a new unit. Emily asked if they’re done with graphing. Ambria said yes. Emily asked what the new unit is. Ambria said polynomials. Emily asked about those, and Ambria explained them. Emily asked what the class is called. Ambria said algebra. Emily asked if she still uses the calculator. Ambria said not yet. Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily started asking questions about practice. Emily wished her well in every single thing she could think of. They ended the call at 9:10 AM.
