Ambria called her mom. Skype said she was not online. Ambria immediately retried and Emily answered. Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria told her she was reading a letter from Ivy. Emily asked where Ivy lives. Ambria told her they went to Dogwood together. Emily said, “Apples, huh?” observing what Ambria was eating. Ambria said yes, with snickerdoodle hummus. Emily asked if it was really sweet. Ambria said it wasn’t. Ambria showed Emily her math graph picture project from math. Emily asked her questions about it. Emily asked if she gets extra credit for coloring them. Ambria said she might get it for effort. Emily said it was “a real neat project.” Ambria told her about one more thing she has to do to finish the project. Ambria told her she gets more extra credit if she turns it in early. Ambria said her grade in that class is good. She has an A. Emily said she extra credit will give her a buffer. Ambria said she was looking at her grad earlier today and noticed she got ES on effort and performance on her interest rate project. Emily said that was great. Ambria asked her to share it with Reda. Ambria offered to send Emily a copy of them. Emily said Reda wondered if Ambria knows how to use that calculator. Ambria said she’s planning to make a boat on the back of the picture project. Emily asked if she’s going to start with the boat or with the equations. Ambria told her she thinks about the shape of the boat first and tries to map the shapes onto the kinds of equation she needs. She said she would use either sine or cosine for the water since it makes a wave shape. She told her mom she went to the skate park on Monday. She told her about conquering the big scary ramp. Emily asks who normally helps her. Ambria told her it was Tiffany. Emily said she thought someone might skate down with her. Ambria told her that sounds dangerous. Emily asked what it feels like going down a ramp. Ambria said it’s scary at first but then it feels good. Emily asked what she’s worried about. Ambria said she’s not sure. Even if she falls, she would be fine because she wears lots of gear. Emily told about the dog’s bath and her new food. Emily said she’s gained a lot of weight. She thinks she’s overfeeding her. Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily said she’s glad she’s involved in the activities she’s involved in. They ended the call at 3:10 PM.
