Ambria arranged to call Emily on Thursday at 4:15pm instead of Wednesday at 2:45pm. Emily agreed. Ambria called Emily. Emily asked what she’s doing. She said she just got home from school. Emily asked how school was. Ambria said it was good. Emily commented that Ambria’s hair was down and she didn’t look familiar. Emily asked about the Halloween dance. Ambria said it’s a formal dance. Emily asked if she’s going and what she will wear. Ambria said she’ll wear her fancy purple shirt and black jeans. Emily asked if she went trick-or-treating and got candy. Ambria said she did. Emily asked if she’s eaten any. Ambria replied a Butterfinger. Emily said Panda went trick-or-treating. Ambria told her mom Lauren’s dog went as a ballerina. Emily asked about the birthday wish list Ambria had sent and asked about the skating gear bag she has on the list. Ambria told her about it and why she wanted it. Emily asked if she puts her gear in it. Ambria said yes. Emily asked if she has to haul it around on the bus and then if it has wheels. Ambria said yes to both of them. Emily asked if she can deviate from the list. Ambria said the bag is the specific one she wants because it will fit all she wants. She said the rest are not specific. Emily said she understood. Emily asked about Ambria’s birthday party. Ambria said it was fun. She told about the Uno game Lauren brought. Ambria said she made her cake. Emily asked about it. Ambria said she thought it looked bad but everyone else liked it. Emily asked what she got. Ambria said she got some weird stuff. She listed the plastic crown, chokers, bath bombs, smarties, a tiny backpack… She asked her mom if she knew what those were. Emily wasn’t sure. Ambria described it and Emily understood. She continued her list with the big “no” button, glass markers… Emily said “uh huh” several times and said it sounded like Ambria had fun. Emily asked what color the cake was, and Ambria described it. Emily repeated it sounded like Ambria had a lot of fun. Emily said she just got back from getting the cat some food. Ambria asked about Reda. Emily said she’s on a “mechanical soft” diet. Ambria asked what kind of stuff it was. Emily said it takes her a really long time to eat. Ambria repeated her question about what the food was. Emily said nothing crunchy, no biscuits or cornbread, it has to be soft, chopped into small pieces. She has trouble swallowing liquids. Emily said she’s not sure if it’s the muscles or her brain that’s the problem. Emily said it’s better than the puree diet she was on. Emily asked about math. Ambria said they watched a movie on fractals today. Emily asked if she has in earrings. Emily asked if she will wear them tomorrow. Ambria said maybe. Emily asked if she wears jewelry to school or is afraid of losing it. Ambria said she wears it because it isn’t worth very much. Emily asked if they have food at the dance. Ambria said no. She said they just play music and call it a dance. Emily said they just stand around and watch then. Ambria agreed. Ambria told her she’s having a sleepover with McKenzie tomorrow and they are going skating. Emily asked who she is. Ambria told her she is Ambria’s best friend. Emily asked where the sleepover is. Ambria said it’s here at our house. Ambria said she might have to change the call time again on Saturday and will let her know. Emily said that’s fine. Ambria said she wanted to go. They ended the call at 4:25 PM.
