Ambria said they started a new unit in math: functions. Emily asked about her snack. Ambria told her it’s a bagel. Emily said she likes bagels. Ambria said she made them. Emily said she’s never made them. Emily asked if they are flavored or plain. Ambria said some plain, some poppyseed. Emily said she saw two bears at the zoo wrestling on a swing. She talked about how big they are. She said she saw the zebras, giraffes, and an elephant, a femal lion. She said she thought about feeding the giraffes but wasn’t sure how it would work so she decided against it. She asked if Ambria ever fed giraffes. Ambria said she only fed goats and camel. Emily said she’s fed goats, cows, deer… She said she held a tiny baby goat a few months ago. Ambria said she liked seeing the chicks going down the slide at the fair. Emily said they were sweet. Ambria said she had her unit 2 math test yesterday and should get it back tomorrow. Emily asked how she thinks she did. Ambria said good. Ambria said they learned about f(x) today. Emily asked how that went. Ambria said it was good and she understands it. Emily asked about science. Ambria said they’ve been doing an experiment the past couple of days to find the mass and volume of different objects. Emily asked what liquids. Ambria said oil, water, syrup, and chocolate. Emily asked about lunch. Ambria said it’s good. Emily asked if more people have RSVPed to her party. Ambria said not yet. Emily asked about the date and guessed it correctly. Ambria told her about the roller derby Halloween party on 11/10. Emily asked about what she’s doing to dress as. Ambria said she’s not sure; either a bat, and M & M, or a flamingo. Emily asked if she’d going trick-or-treating. Ambria said she’s going with Lauren. Emily asked if she lives close. Ambria said she lives on the other side of the school. Emily asked if anyone else walks to school. Ambria said a lot of kids walk to school. Emily asked if she has homework. Ambria said she does. Emily asked if she minds it. Ambria said not much. She said it isn’t hard. She thanked her mom for buying the gift cards. Emily said she’s welcome. Ambria said she turned them in yesterday and get prizes tomorrow. Emily asked about her prize. Ambria said she gets crazy cards and a Madison glow bracelet. Emily said that didn’t sound too bad. Emily asked about the very first art project and about the pottery. Ambria said she hasn’t used the pottery wheel yet. She’s still working on her pot, and it isn’t coming off to plan. She said she thinks she’s going to make the lid a cat head. Emily said she has no artistic ability and understands the project going wrong. Ambria said her coils are all different shapes. Emily said she’s sure it will be fine. It doesn’t mean she can’t do something else with pottery later on. She can try to work with it more later on. Ambria told her she’s heard of a class just on pottery in high school. Emily asked about history and thought it was called something else. Ambria said they’ve been working on a Mini-Q (miniature document based questions). Emily asked what her document is. Ambria said they have the same documents, and they are about the Jamestown colony. Emily asked if it’s fun. Ambria said yes, and they get to work with partners. Emily asked about the partner. Ambria said it’s Kit. Emily asked if that’s her friend. Ambria said she is. Emily asked if Kit is invited to the party. Ambria said yes. Emily asked about Ambria’s nails.
