Ambria called Emily. Emily asked what Ambria is doing. She told her math homework. Emily asked what they are working on. Ambria said they’re graphing ordinary equations. Emily said, “As much fun as that sounds…” She asked how Ambria did on her retake. Ambria said she improved. Emily asked how her other classes are. Ambria said she had a science quiz. Emily asked on what. Ambria said it was on the states of matter. Emily said that sounds good. Emily asked how derby tryouts went. Ambria said it’s good. She told her everyone at the tryout made the team. Emily said that was good and asked what she had to do there. Ambria said they did the same stuff: sprinting, different stops, transitions… Emily asked about the guinea pig. Ambria said he’s cute. She said he was drinking more water today. Emily said he was dehydrated. She asked if he plays a part in the class. Ambria said he just sits there. Emily asked what his purpose is. Ambria said he doesn’t have one. Ambria asked about Reda. Emily said she’s doing OK. Still doing pureed foods. She said Reda told her she doesn’t like the meat paste. Emily described it to Ambria. Ambria said it sounds kinda gross. Emily said it probably is. She said it’s better than having to eat through a tube. Ambria searched for something to say. She told her mom she has her first practice tomorrow. She told her which days she has practices. Emily said that’s a lot of practice. Ambria said she hopes she’ll get better faster. Emily guessed it was 15-20 minutes away. Ambria said she guessed that was right. Emily asked if she needed anything new. Ambria said the stuff from last year would do but she may put a couple of items on her wish list. Emily asked if she could use the same helmet. Ambria said she thinks so. Emily asked about another item I couldn’t understand. Emily asked about Lauren and McKenzie today. Ambria said she did. She told her mom everyone was wearing shoes that made them tall. Emily asked if she chopped off her feet at the ankles to make her shorter. Emily asked how tall Ambria is. Ambria said she thinks she’s about 4’11”. Emily said she thinks she’s about average. Ambria said she thinks she’s short. She told Emily McKenzie is about 5’8”. Emily laughed. Ambria said everyone else is about 5’5”. Emily said she didn’t have anything to compare that to. Emily asked what Ambria had for lunch. Ambria said she had one of her banana muffins and something she can’t recall. Emily laughed. Ambria said she knew there was something else but it’s blacked out. Emily said she understands. Emily asked what she made the muffins. Ambria said she made them over the weekend. She asked how she made them. Ambria gave her the ingredients. Emily said they sounded good. Ambria said they are. Emily asked how many she makes at a time. Ambria told her 9 and that they are pretty big. Emily said she gave Panda a bath today because she was getting smelly. She recounted the entire process. Ambria laughed about it. Ambria said she wanted to go. They ended the call at 3:09 PM.
