9/12/2018 2:58 PM- Ambria called Emily. Skype said she was not online. She retried at 3:00 PM. Skype now said she is unavailable. Ambria got a message back after the second attempt saying she would be late because she was in traffic. She said she hoped to be available by 3:15 PM.
Ambria, I will be a few minutes late for my call today. I am in traffic. Hopefully I can call by 3:15.
Ambria replied:

Emily called at 3:12 PM. She asked what Ambria is doing. Ambria told her she got home from school about a half hour ago. She said she has a lot of math homework. Emily asked what kind. Ambria said they’re solving linear equations that have decimals and fractions. Emily asked about Ambria’s other classes. Ambria said they’re good. Emily asked if she got into art class. Ambria said she did. Emily asked what she’s done. Ambria said she did a free draw and has a project to decorate her folder. Emily said that sounds neat. Emily asked if she’s holding off on PE until next semester. Ambria said yes, and that she’ll have it 7th period next semester, right before she goes home. Emily said that sounded better. Emily asked if Ambria’s going to do her volunteer work today. Ambria said she’s taking a break because she’s not feeling well. Emily asked if she has cough drops. Ambria said she doesn’t like them but took some allergy medication this morning. Ambria asked about Reda. Emily said she has her second swallow study tomorrow, but she isn’t sure how much progress she’s made. Emily thinks she’ll never be able to eat regular food again. She hopes Reda can turn it around. Ambria couldn’t think of anything to say for a few seconds. Emily said she’s getting Panda’s feet shaven soon. She will take her to the groomer to do this. Ambria thought again about something to say. She told her mom about the collaborative drawing activity they did in language arts to create the class mascot. Emily asked how it turned out for Ambria. Ambria said hers didn’t run. Emily asked who the candidates were. Ambria said there were 7 including her vote (Episode 1: The Phantom Dennis) and the winner (Augusta). Emily asked what Ambria named hers: Brittney Savage. Emily asked why. Ambria said she didn’t have a reason. She said they did silent reading in that class today. Ambria told her they have a math textbook. Emily asked if it’s hard and confusing. Ambria said kinda. Emily said she didn’t think Ambria will have trouble. Ambria said they can decide if they want to use it for high school credit. Emily asked if she would. Ambria said she’s not sure. Emily asked if she has classes with any friends. Ambria told her the classes she has with friends. She has 4 classes with Ava. Emily asked about lunch. Ambria said she sits with MacKenzie, Ava, Tavin, and Kit. Emily asked if they get to go outside. Ambria said they do. Emily asked what they do and guessed they just stand around and get fresh air. Ambria said that’s it. Emily asked about sports. Ambria said she’ll just do roller derby. Emily said she did track and cross-country. Ambria told about running with Alex when she was in 6th grade. Emily said she wasn’t any good but wanted to be on a team. Ambria said “uh huh,” and told her she wanted to go. They ended the call at 3:24 PM.
