Ambria called Emily. Emily asked what she is doing. Ambria said she just had breakfast. Emily asked what. Ambria told her toads in a hole and veggie bacon. Emily said she’s going to some home decor stores to look around. Emily asked if Ambria ever went to the Asian festival. Ambria said she hasn’t. Emily said the drummers that play at Epcot will be there. She said she’s going to see it. Ambria said that sounds cool. Emily said she might try some food there. Ambria told her she starts school a week from Wednesday. Emily asked if she’s ready. Ambria said she just needs her calculator. Emily said she will have it. Emily asked if she has her outfit picked out. Ambria said she has different options and hasn’t decided. Emily asked about them, and Ambria described one. She said she can’t recall the others. Emily asked if she wears leggings. Ambria said she may have leggings as part of one of her outfits. Emily asked if she’s seen any more friends. Ambria told her Lauren couldn’t arrange a time to do something. Emily said maybe she’ll see her at school. Ambria said yes. Emily asked if she’ll take lunch or buy it at school. Ambria said she’ll buy it at school. Emily asked how much it is. Ambria told her the full lunch is $2.50. She said she isn’t sure. Emily said she didn’t have many options when she was in school. Ambria said they almost always have pizza, usually hamburgers and veggie burgers, chicken patties, and then a special. Ambria said their tomato soup is OK. Emily said that sounds good. Emily asked if Ambria has plans this week. Ambria said she’ll probably take it easy. She doesn’t have any plans. Emily asked if Ambria has been reading. Ambria said she just finished one of the Bulldogs Reads. Emily asked what those are. Ambria told her that, if you read all of them, they draw for a prize and, if you read 30, you get to go on a field trip. Emily asked how many she’s read this year. Ambria said about 5. Emily asked what they have to submit. Ambria said you had to list your favorite parts. Emily asked if the books are long. Ambria said it varies but they are all chapter books. Ambria said the one she has checked out now is really thick. Emily asked if she will get to go on the field trip again this year. Ambria said she doesn’t know. She said she read 45 during the summer last year. Emily said maybe she’ll read all 50 this year or maybe she won’t. “Whatever she wants to do.” Emily asked about roller derby. Ambria told her she’s changing leagues this year to a league closer to us. Emily asked if that’s a different team. Ambria said yes. Emily asked how that works. Ambria said she’s guaranteed a spot on the team but still has to try out to see which team she’s on. Emily asked how long it takes to get there. Ambria said probably 30 minutes. Emily said, “That’s not bad then, is it?” Ambria said “Especially since it took 2 hours to get to the other derby place.” Emily asked if the team last year ever played with the team she’s trying out for. Ambria said no. Emily asked why not. Ambria said they only play against other teams in the league. Emily said to let her know how roller derby goes and she’ll get the calculator. They ended the call at 9:10 AM.
