Ambria tried again at 5:21 PM, and, again, Skype said Emily was unavailable.
7/25/2018 5:15 PM- We let Emily know on Monday via email Ambria would not be able to call at her normal time. We told her Ambria would call once she had gotten home from skateboard camp and finished her shower. We guessed in the email that would be around 5:30pm. Ambria called at 5:15 PM, and Skype said Emily was unavailable.
Emily called back at 5:26 PM just after dinner was served. She asked what Ambria is doing. Ambria said she’s eating dinner. Emily asked what she’s having. Ambria said she’s having spaghetti and garlic bread. Emily said that sounds good and asked if Ambria helped make it. Ambria said no because she just got home from skateboard camp. Emily asked about skateboard camp. Ambria told her about what she’s learned so far. Emily asked if she’d had any massive injuries. Ambria said no massive ones but she had some scrapes and bruises. Emily said that’s to be expected. She told her about the injury she got skating down the stairs. Emily asked if she’s OK. Ambria said she is. Emily said, “That’s the main thing.” Emily asked how many other girls are in the class. Ambria said she doesn’t know. Emily asked if it’s a big group. Ambria said it’s “medium.” She said there are about 15. Ambria said there are a lot of little kids. Emily asked if any of the kids are older. Ambria said, if there are, there aren’t many. There are 3 kids about her age. Emily said it sounds “interesting and exciting.” She told her mom about the 6-year-old girl who is better than everyone else. Emily asked her if she’s using her derby gear for that. Ambria said she is. Emily said it looks like Ambria got some sun. Ambria showed her tan line from her FitBit. Emily asked if she’s having fun. Ambria said she is. Emily asked if she’s going to be a skateboarded now too. Ambria didn’t give much of an answer, maybe just laughed. She told her mom about the tic-tac technique. Emily said she’s glad Ambria is having “a very fun time.” Emily asked what she has for lunch. Ambria told her a peanut butter and apple butter sandwich. She told her about the snacks she takes too. Emily said she’s glad Ambria is staying full. She asked if Ambria’s drinking plenty of water. Ambria said she is. Emily said she’s glad Ambria is having fun and not having too many injuries. She said a few were OK. Ambria asked how Reda is. Emily said about the same. Maybe her whispering is a little stronger. Ambria asked if she’s still at UT. Emily said no. Ambria asked if the new place is closer to Emily. Emily said a little bit but not much. Emily asked if Ambria wanted her to keep the books she had sent for Reda. Ambria said to keep them. Emily asked if she’s already read them. Ambria said she may have a long time ago. Emily asked if she wants to read them again. Ambria said she doesn’t care what she does with them. Ambria said she would talk to Emily on Saturday. Emily said she hopes the last two days of skateboard camp are good. They ended the call at 5:38 PM.
