Ambria called Emily. Emily asked what Ambria’s doing. Ambria said she just talked to Reda. Emily asked what she said. Ambria said she told her everyone got her letters. Emily told what her pets are doing. Ambria said she’s going to the beach tonight. Emily asked if she has a way to keep in touch with her friends. Ambria said she does. Emily asked about Ambria’s yearbook. Ambria said they got them and have a day to get them signed. Emily asked several questions about the beach and how Ambria plays on it. Emily asked if the weather has been nice. Ambria said it has. Ambria told Emily tomorrow is their school carnival. Emily asked about it. Ambria gave her some details about how the school schedule will work. Emily said it sounds like a lot of fun. Emily asked how she will get her report card. Ambria said she thinks they are mailed. Emily said she used to go a half-day to pick up her final report card and it was very sad. She said the school felt abandoned and quiet. Emily asked if Ambria will be able to practice derby this summer. Ambria said she’s planning to go to the skate park. Emily said Ambria had mentioned that before. Ambria struggled to find something to say. Emily said she looks a lot older than she has in the past because of her hair and the color of shirt she’s wearing. Ambria didn’t have a response. Emily asked if Ambria knows who her advisory (forgot and thought it was called “homeroom.” She said, “I always forget that!”) will be next year. Ambria said they don’t find out. Emily asked if she has an option to do anything with the school over the summer. Ambria said she doesn’t think so. Ambria said Friday is her last day. Emily asked if it’s a free day. Ambria said she doesn’t know. Ambria continued struggling for something to say. Emily tried to get one of her pets to show to Ambria. She showed the animal over the Skype call. Emily said she looks pitiful. Ambria said she’s still cute. Emily told about the grooming she does for the dog. Ambria said, “Mmmm…” as if she was still thinking of something to say. Emily said something about Ambria’s nails. She said her nails don’t grow as well as Ambria’s. She asked if Ambria has lots of polish. Ambria said she thinks she has 5. She said she doesn’t paint them often. Emily said she’s read it isn’t healthy but what does she know (her words)? Ambria said she wants to go. Emily said she hopes Ambria has fun at the beach and the last day of school is good. They ended the call at 3:09 PM.
