Ambria called Emily. Emily said she likes Ambria’s hair. (She has it in a bun on top of her head.) Emily asked if she did it herself and if it pulls. Yes and no. Emily asked how her morning is. Ambria said it’s good and told her we’re going to a street fair. Emily asked what they’re going to have. Ambria said they’ll have vendors selling food and crafts. Emily said that sounds like fun. Ambria said we’re going to Aria’s birthday party after that. Emily asked who that is. Ambria said she is our friend Suzanne’s adopted daughter. Emily asked what kind of party. Ambria said she thinks they’re just having it at their house. Emily asked if she’ll have some cake. Ambria said she doesn’t know. Emily asked if she’s ready for the bout. Ambria said she thinks so. Emily asked if the season ends. Ambria said it does and restarts in September. Emily asked if you have to try out again. Ambria said you don’t but you can move up to a different division. Ambria said she doesn’t think she will. Emily asked the difference. Ambria said it is full contact. Emily asked about school. Ambria told about the math test she finished 5 minutes before class is out. Emily asked what it’s about. Ambria said it’s stuff she learned in 7th grade. Emily asked if she remembered it. Ambria said yes. Emily asked when the last time she studied that. Ambria said last year. She said they reviewed it some before the test. Emily asked about PE. Ambria said they’re starting soccer. Emily said she likes soccer. Ambria said she isn’t good at it. Emily asked if Ambria knew she had been on a soccer team and told about her experience. Ambria said on Friday they played with hacky sacks. Emily said she’s not good at that. Ambria said several people got 5 but she only got 2. They learned to hit it with different parts of their feet. Emily reiterated that she isn’t good and hopes Ambria can do it better. She asked about history and science. Ambria said they started a poster in science with a partner. Ambria said they’re learning about the heart. Emily said she struggled with the circulatory system. Ambria said they already did that, and she doesn’t remember what she got on the test. Emily said the heart wasn’t bad but was a little bit difficult. She thinks she remembers it now. Emily asked if she’s going to get anything at the fair. Ambria said probably not. Emily said she can just look. Emily asked if the weather will be good. Ambria said it looks like it will. Ambria told Emily about all the substitute teachers she had last week. Emily asked why. Ambria didn’t know. Emily asked what they do with a sub. Ambria said busy work and sometimes they watch videos. Emily said that’s not so bad, but they make her sleepy now. Emily asked if Ambria has any new books. Emily mentioned the bout again and asked if Ambria will be the jammer much. Ambria said probably once. Emily said she’s glad Ambria isn’t force to be the jammer. Ambria said she needed to go. Emily said she hopes Ambria enjoys the fair and does well in her bout. They ended the call at 9:08 AM.
