Ambria called Emily. Emily asked how school was today. Ambria said it was good. Emily asked if she did anything different. Ambria told about her vocabulary quiz today in history on fur trading in early America. Ambria told her about early fur trade. Emily asked about math class. Ambria said she doesn’t remember what it’s called and showed her a worksheet. Emily said, “Oh, more of that.” Emily asked about gym class. Ambria said they’ve started a new unit. Emily said, “So, no more rowing then?” Ambria said that is right. She said they’ve started football. Emily asked if she’s going to be a quarterback. Ambria said she doesn’t know what that is. Ambria told her they played flag football last year and that it was OK. Emily said she never had to play it “luckily.” Ambria described what they did today and said she wasn’t very good at passing or catching. She said they also ran a lap around the track. Emily asked if her school has a track team. Ambria said they have track but she’s not sure about cross-country. Emily said she was in both of those in 7th grade and wasn’t very good. They started talking over each other. Ambria was trying to tell a story about her friend and Emily kept telling a track story. Ambria said her friend Alex was on the track and cross-country team last year. Emily said she enjoyed it but it made her really tired. She said she wasn’t sure why she wanted to participate. The call started having some problems. We’d just gotten off a call with Reda and didn’t have any of theses problems. Ambria said she doesn’t really like running and can’t run for very long. Emily reiterated she wasn’t sure why she joined. Emily asked if any of Ambria’s friends were in the band. Ambria said Lauren was last year but she doesn’t know anyone who is this year. Emily asked what she played. Ambria said she thinks she played clarinet. Emily volunteered the cat is in the window. Ambria asked about the dog. Emily talked about taking her for a walk a couple of times a week. She said she’s very tired when she gets back. Ambria said she talked to Reda. Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria said she told her about the new cat beds. The call started having problems again. Emily asked what about them. Ambria said she told her about getting the cat beds that Ambria already knows about. She said she had to remind Reda about one she had forgotten about. Emily told about her pet hammocks. They talked about hammocks. She said Reda also told Ambria about needing to change the oil in the lawnmower. She also mentioned that she asked about taking the cats to the vet and that Reda hasn’t taken them yet. Emily made excuses for Reda. Ambria said, “They still need to go to the vet.” Emily talked about Pandas care that she needs. Ambria said she wanted to go to do her homework. Emily asked if she is going to volunteer. Ambria said yes. Emily said she’s glad Ambria is still doing that. They said goodbye. Ambria ended the call at 3:08 PM.
