Ambria emailed Emily before 8am to ask if she could call early because she wants to go to something downtown. Emily wrote back about 5 minutes before the call time Ambria proposed to say that was fine. Ambria called Emily at the agreed-upon time. She told her mom she was going to a tree walk downtown. Her mom said that sounded like something she enjoyed. Emily asked if she’d had breakfast. Ambria said she had and told her she had French toast and veggie bacon. Her mom said she thought she had tried the same brand of veggie bacon but that most people either love bacon or hate it. She asked how school was for Ambria. Ambria told her she had a vocabulary test in history and thinks it went well. Ambria tried to spell raising to her as they referenced the spelling bee Ambria talked about last time. Emily started talking about her pets. They talked about Panda. Emily asked about the weather. Ambria said it was warm yesterday. Ambria told her next week is her spring break. Emily acted surprised and said, “This week is your spring break?” She asked what Ambria is going to do. Ambria said she doesn’t know. They talked about Ambria’s hair. Emily asked if Ambria will take the bus to the tree thing. Emily asked how long the thing is. Ambria said she’s not sure, but it isn’t all-day. Ambria stammered a bit. She said this Sunday she has a scrimmage and next Sunday she has a bout. Emily asked if she is ready for it. Ambria said she thinks she is. Emily said good. Ambria said she might try to skate at the park some this week. Emily asked if this is the park close to her. Ambria said yes. She told Emily about the track she skates on and how it helps her legs get stronger. Emily asked about basketball in gym. Ambria told about her friend Mackenzie getting hit with the basketball. Emily said she hates that feeling. Ambria said the teacher didn’t do much to help. Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily told her to have fun today and at practice. They ended the call at 8:51 AM.
