Ambria called her mom. Emily said she couldn’t hear Ambria. Emily adjusted something and then acted like she could hear. Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria said she just talked to Reda. Emily immediately moved on to school. Ambria told about her tests. She said the last question on one of the tests was what she planned to do on her break. Ambria said she didn’t have any plans. Ambria told Emily she has mid-winter break this week. Emily asked her for the days. She asked if Ambria would try to sleep more. Ambria said probably. Emily said that is good. Ambria told about the science test yesterday. Emily asked if they are still studying genes. Ambria said she is studying DNA and adaptation. Emily said that sounded fun. Ambria told Emily about the five parts of natural selection. Emily acted impressed and laughed about it. Ambria said she was picking orange pieces out of her teeth and that Reda had asked if she was having second breakfast. They laughed. Ambria told her mom they have been playing hockey in gym. Emily asked if they had plastic hockey sticks. Ambria told her they are wooden and they use softer hockey pucks that still hurt when she gets hit in the shin. Emily said she was glad it wasn’t serious. Emily asked Ambria to remind her what her favorite game was on the Nintendo Switch. Ambria replied it was Stardew Valley. Emily asked her to spell it. She said she wants to read about the games Ambria likes to play. Ambria said she hasn’t played it in a few weeks but hopes to play it on her break. Emily asked if she would play it a lot. Ambria said probably not a whole lot. Emily asked if Ambria had breakfast yet. Ambria said she’d had half of it. She then described what she was having. Emily said it sounds good. Emily said she had coffee and a donut. Ambria told Emily about the flexibility test in PE. Emily said she had to do that one time in PE. Ambria told her mom she got 11 on her good leg and 9 on her bad leg. Emily commented on Ambria’s slime. Ambria said it always gets bubbles when she puts it in the container. Emily asked about Ambria’s volunteering. She told about bagging tomatoes and oranges and doing the checkout. Emily mentioned roller derby practice tomorrow and next Friday. Ambria said she thinks she will still practice next Friday even though they are out of school. Emily asked if Ambria is using her new skates and if they are broken in. Ambria said she thinks they are. Ambria told her mom about the skate-a-thon and said she is collection pledges. Emily didn’t offer to pledge but asked how many laps Ambria has been doing. Ambria told Emily about their free time in Gateway to Tech. She said they got to watch the olympics and she played Duck Life 4. Emily asked if she likes it. Emily started asking about Ambria’s twin friends. Ambria said she has science with Ava but no classes with Catrin. Ambria ended the call at 9:10 AM.
