Ambria called her mom. She told her mom what she got on the science test. Emily started grilling her on her grades. Ambria told her she had a B+ in her first semester of math. Emily said she had gotten Ambria’s postcard. They talked about cursive writing. Ambria asked what Emily’s pets were doing. Emily explained where each pet was and what they were doing. She asked about Ambria’s roller derby practice. Ambria told her she had gotten lead jammer in the scrimmage. Emily asked what that meant. Ambria explained it again. Emily asked if Ambria is going to volunteer today. Ambria said she is. Emily asked if Ambria had any new music on her iPod. Ambria said she keeps forgetting to buy more. Ambria started struggling to think of what to say next. She said, “Let’s see… Hmm…” Then she started talking about her history project where she’s supposed to dress up as a famous person. She said she had changed from Elvis to Kurt Cobain but someone else has taken him. Emily asked if this other person had the Kurt Cobain hair. She said the teacher told her she could do one of his bandmates like Dave Grohl. Emily suggested emailing her some suggestions and she would email back. Ambria began telling Emily goodbye. Emily said she would talk to Ambria “Sunday if not before.” Ambria corrected her saying, “You mean Saturday.” Ambria ended the call at 3:11 PM.
