Ambria called Emily. Emily asked Ambria about her classes. Ambria said she’s trying to change her tech class to be a TA. Emily asked Ambria about PE. Ambria said she’s going to keep that class since she has a friend in it. Emily’s video froze and the call ended. I ran a speed test.

Ambria told me Emily is in a car, so this may be the reason for the poor connection. Ambria told Emily she played volleyball yesterday and is bad at it. The call again disconnected. Ambria called Emily back again. Ambria told her the connection isn’t very good. Emily started talking again and was breaking up. Ambria said, “What?” to get Emily to repeat. Emily was asking if Ambria thought about the funny volleyball anecdote Emily had relayed on their last call. The call then disconnected again. I ran another speed test just to confirm the problem is not on our end.

Ambria wrote out a message in Skype chat to send to her mom since the call is continually failing. Before she had a chance to send the message, her mom called her back on Skype. Ambria answered and said hello several times, but no one responded. Ambria kept that call live for about a minute but never got a response. At 9:10 AM, Ambria sent a chat message via Skype to her mom asking about what her dog and cat had done and telling her they would talk again on Wednesday. Ambria asked me to start playing the video we had previously been watching, apparently finished with the conversation. Emily sent a reply at 9:12 AM saying the pets had breakfast and are sleeping, that she had gotten Ambria’s postcard, and she loves her.
