Ambria tried to call Emily but got a message from Skype that she was unreachable. She immediately tried again and got the same message. We sent Emily a text message on Skype letting her know two attempts had failed and we would be traveling today and unable to retry her. I have included a screenshot of the message we got on our attempt and the message we sent Emily.

Ambria made two more attempts and got the same result. We left at 9:06 AM having not received any response from Emily on Skype. Emily’s Skype status indicated she had last been online “days ago.” I have provided a screenshot of that.

We are in Canada and do not have cellular data access. We were calling from the apartment we are renting using their wi-fi.
9:30 AM- I received an email from Emily:
I am not able to get service where I am. I will keep trying. Is there a later time today that she will be free?

We did not get in until very late that night, so I responded the next day:
Ambria only had time to get her derby gear together at the apartment, so she will not be able to call today.
and with more detail:
This would have been really nice to know before our established call time. We were in Canada with my parents. We put off going to breakfast so we would have wi-fi for Ambria’s call with you. This meant we wouldn’t be able to finish breakfast before our checkout time, so we had to take all our luggage to breakfast with us. Ambria was very disappointed that you didn’t make yourself available for her call as well.
Next time, could you please let us know if you won’t be available before the call time rather than after?
We didn’t get in until nearly midnight Saturday night. We’ve been out all day today, and we’re going directly after school tomorrow for Ambria’s birthday dinner with my parents. She says she will catch up with you on Wednesday.
As of the morning of 10/16, Emily has not responded to either of these messages.
