Called Emily. I talked to her for a minute to introduce the idea of video. I started by reminding her we had stopped doing video because the calls were unintelligible. She did not dispute this. I said I understood she wanted to try again and that I would let Ambria use my phone so that she could try the video. Emily asked if I wanted her to use her phone too. I said it didn’t matter to me and that she could use whatever device she wanted. I told her I would turn on the video and turn the phone over to Ambria. She said OK. I then activated video and handed Ambria the phone. The call seemed to work without the problems we were having before. They talked over one another more than normal, probably due to some additional latency, but the voice didn’t have the noise it had on the previous video attempts. Aside from one instance near the end of the call where Emily’s voice cut out, the call was intelligible. There was one instance near the end of the call in which Emily’s voice cut out and Ambria couldn’t understand what she said. They talked about school and dinner. Emily said, “It sounds like everything is going good up there. I’m glad your classes are going good and everything. It sounds like everything is just… going good.” Ambria ended the call at 5:10pm.
